My name is Stephen Greaney. I have been tying flies for over 35 years, and within that time you become critical of your own flies to tie them neater, slimmer and within proportion all the time.
I build these benches myself here in co galway in the west of Ireland on the shores of one of the great western lakes of Ireland 'The Corrib' on then the edge of Connemara. The corrib has over 44,000 acres of fresh water where wild brown trout and wild altantic salmon swim freely. There is a huge array of fly life especially in may when the mayfly hatches are huge when fishing can start from dawn to dusk that bring fishing people from all over the world.
I have fished my way around the world, both ways, taking in all the exotic game fishing Mecca's on the way. However, I have to admit, I would sooner go to my beloved west of Ireland than any of these other lovely places. This is how much I value what the west has to offer.
